The Yamaha rider is looking forward to two long main races at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya after improving during Friday’s free practice sessions compared to the test.

The second event of the 2024 FIM Superbike World Championship takes place this weekend at the Montmeló circuit not far from the Catalan capital. In good conditions, Dominique Aegerter finished 12th in the combined timesheets on Friday after the 33-year-old Swiss rider and his crew in the Italian GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team used both sessions of the day primarily to prepare for the races. Special attention will also have to be paid to tyre wear in Barcelona.

After Superpole on Saturday morning, the first main race of the weekend will start as usual at 02:00 pm, with Eurosport 2 broadcasting live from 01:50 pm. Alternatively, race action also can be viewed via the app "ServusTV on" and via live stream on ServusTV Online as well as on WorldSBK’s the official website.

"It was a positive Friday overall, even if the position at the end of the day is less nice. Our main focus was on the race distance, and in doing so we were quite consistent. We tried different solutions and concentrated on getting the best performance out of our tyres, as we have 20 laps to go in the long races. Overall, I am happy with the work because we were able to improve the feeling from the test. We are aware that we need a good qualifying, but I have the feeling that the work we have done will pay off."
