2024/03/13 - FIM Superbike World Championship 2024: Barcelona-Test - Preview

Barcelona-Test - next important task

Dominique Aegerter wants to use a two-day test on Thursday and Friday as perfect preparation for the second round of the 2024 FIM Superbike World Championship in a week's time at the same venue.

After the championship opener at the end of February, the Superbike World Championship returns to action over the next few days with a two-day test at the race track just outside Barcelona. Dominique Aegerter has made good use of the break to get himself into good physical condition after starting the new championship in Australia lacking a certain amount of testing and physical training. The test in Barcelona is therefore a welcome opportunity for him and his Italian GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team to test the latest material.

The track will be open on both days from 10:00 to 18:00 for the WorldSBK teams, most of whom will be present. Link to live timing.

Dominique Aegerter would also like to take this opportunity to apologize for the circumstances that have arisen, as his Whatsapp account has been blocked for some time. Both sides are working on a solution.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team, Yamaha YZF R1)

"During the two-and-a-half-week break, I was able to continue recovering from the viral infection I got effected with at the end of January. I came to Barcelona a little earlier to ride my motocross and supermoto bike in the area which was very good. The weather forecast is great for the next few days when we will be testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Thursday and Friday. There is a tight program waiting for me though, as there are many things to test that we didn't have time for in Australia and I think Yamaha will bring more new parts. Apart from that, this test is the perfect preparation for the race weekend here in a week's time, I'm looking forward to it!"
