Good improvements made this morning was less help for WorldSBK rookie Dominique Aegerter in Saturday's race, when he had to retire shortly before the line due to a clutch failure.

With every lap under his belts, Dominique Aegerter is coping better with the challenging Imola track. In free practice three this morning, he was able to improve his lap time by another second compared to yesterday's FP2, which he also managed to do in Superpole. With a best effort in 1'46.973 he ended up in twelfth place on the grid. Coming from the fourth row, he was able to hold this position until a technical issue five laps before the chequered flag cost him the points he thought were safe.

On Sunday, the timetable for round seventh will feature Superpole race and the second main race of the weekend, as usual. ServusTV will be live in German-speaking countries, as will the paid stream on worldsbk.com.

"Today we improved our performance and got closer to the top riders. We still have problems in the slow chicanes, but we made progress. In qualifying we were able to take another step forward, even though our grid position was not ideal. In race 1 I was on the limit in the first laps. In addition, we had to deal with very hot conditions and the behaviour of the bike was a bit different. Unfortunately, in the final stages of the race the clutch started to slip, and I had to retire. We hope that we can improve further tomorrow and achieve a place among the top 9 in the sprint race to have a better starting position for the second main race."
