After P5 in Saturday’s E-Pole, Dominique Aegerter has set himself an ambitious goal for the third race in MotoE™ World Cup 2020.

The San Marino Grand Prix this weekend is the third stop for the electric bike racing series, which was only introduced in 2019. The 29-year-old rider from Rohrbach, Dominique Aegerter, is contesting his rookie season. After a third place and superb victory in the second race of the season in Jerez two months ago, he has taken the overall lead. Of course, the ambitious racer does not want to let this out of his hands. On Saturday Aegerter qualified for fifth place on the second row of the grid and wants to be on the podium again on Sunday.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Dynavolt Intact GP, Energica), Grid position 5 - 1´44.206:

"Misano was a new track for me with the MotoE bike. Nevertheless, we started the weekend quite well. A small fall on Friday afternoon did not hurt us at all. It was my first fall with this bike so, that I have made this experience as well now. Apart from that the first day of practice was positive overall.  I just did not agree with our gap to the top, whereas the position was ok."

"In FP3 today at noon we tried again some things to get further ahead. Since in the beginning my confidence in the bike was not 100 percent yet so, we tried to go in a different direction. But in doing so, we made a little mistake. That was unfortunately a disadvantage for the E-Pole in the afternoon because we changed the setting again during the break. But in just one laps it is hardly possible to rebuild the feeling. Nevertheless, we were even able to improve our lap time."

"But we were not fast enough to reach our goal. We wanted to end up in the top three. In the end, we were even a little lucky with our placement, because two or three other riders were not faultless in their laps. P5 on the starting grid is certainly a not too bad starting position. Nevertheless, a good start is a basic prerequisite to be able to compete with the front runners in the seven laps. If possible, I'd like to finish first again this time."
