#DA77: "THIS THIRD ROW START IS SOME BALM FOR OUR SOUL"

Qualifying for ninth spot on the starting grid, Swiss Moto2™ star Dominique Aegerter was able to create a promising starting position since a while.

Dominique Aegerter and his traditional team from Germany, Kiefer Racing, did everything right in Saturday afternoon’s heat at Brno. Going into the timed session, the mode was immediately set for a time attack. Aegerter was also able to get out the maximum of the new tyres in his hot lap and to use the excellent track conditions at this point of time to his utmost. Despite the gratifying performance, however, the experienced 27-year-old looks forward to Sunday’s race with mixed feelings.

The first race after the summer break is set to get started as usual on Sunday 12:20 pm CET.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing), Grid position 9th - 2´02.520 (3/16):

"Basically, today’s qualifying has been decided very quickly. With the new tyres and the still cool engine, you had to go for a hot lap immediately as well as making the most out of the extra grip on track after the previous MotoGP sessions. So, our timing was perfect, and we benefited from these excellent conditions. We did everything right as underlined by only 0.2 seconds off pole-position. P9 in the third row came right in time and it is a bit of a balm for our wounded souls. In my fastest lap I was also able to make good use from a slipstream of Xavi Vierge."

"After it was pretty clear that it will hardly possible to improve the lap times afterwards, we mainly worked on the race pace during the remaining practice time though, our starting position looks a bit better than my feeling is. We still struggle a bit with confidence in corner entry. But I’m sure that if we can improve on this till tomorrow, so with more confidence for the front wheel going into the corners, then we can fight for a top 10 position. That would be a great result for us at all and at the same time a small clearance to kick off the second part of the season."
