#AmericasGP: WITH TEXAN OPENING DAY NOT COMPLETELY SATISFIED

WITH TEXAN OPENING DAY NOT COMPLETELY SATISFIED

During Friday’s first free practice session, Dominique Aegerter were able to confirm their progress made in Argentina last time.

This weekend’s round three of the new season started with dry weather but relatively cool temperatures on Friday morning. By the afternoon, it got much warmer. So to speak, however, the competition increased the pace in the same extent at the tricky Circuit of The Americas. After he was tenth fastest in FP1, Dominique Aegerter went very confident into the second session in which he was able to improve his lap time by one second. But in the end, he dropped back to 19th place in the combined timesheets.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing), FP1: P10 - 2´13.072 (16/18) / FP2: P19 - 2´12.011 (9/17):

"This morning’s first session ended quite promising thus far. To close it in P10, we started well into the weekend though our improvement in the afternoon was a little bit too less in order to keep this good position. Of course, P19 after FP2 is not what we want. Our gap, however, with just 0.9 second to the top is small. Anyway, we will work hard to get back up to the front. The track’s conditions were actually not different than in the past. The surface is still quite bumpy and the grip level only improves a little bit by each session. But that’s the same for everyone. On the other hand, I have to say that I like this circuit a lot. These many different corners are funny to ride even if they make it a bit difficult to set up the bike. In this respect, you must find a comprise by adapting your riding. Apart from that, we will give everything to deliver a good qualifying tomorrow."
