#ValenciaGP: TOP-10 TO THE CONCLUSION OF AN EMOTIONAL WEEKEND

TOP-10 TO THE CONCLUSION OF AN EMOTIONAL WEEKEND

At the end of what was a difficult season, Dominique Aegerter scored another tenth place and more points on Sunday in Valencia.

Glorious weather with pleasant temperatures and fully crowded grandstands at Valencia’s ultramodern motorsport arena provided the best ingredients for a fitting finale of an exciting season. In the box of Dominique Aegeter’s Kiefer Racing, however, clouded mood prevailed although the outcome of the weekend ended up on the whole conciliatory.

After a strong qualifying performance on Saturday afternoon, Dominique Aegerter headed with justifiable hopes for an equally pleasing result into the race. With this, he wanted to say goodbye to Stefan Kiefer worthily. Aegerter also delivered a strong first third of the race before he suffered tyre issues. Understandable that the ambitious racer could hardly get excited about P10 after 27 demanding laps. Aegerter finished the 2017 campaign in twelfth position overall.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing, Suter MMX2), 10th (Championship position 12th, 88 points):

"Honestly, I had imagined the end of the season with a different outcome. I’m definitely not satisfied with today’s P10 because I would have like to achieve a better result for my team and also with this to say goodbye to Stefan. I gave everything out there, but I soon struggled with massive grip issues. Without these difficulties, I would have been able to fight and defend my position until the end, for sure. I’m glad somehow, that this season comes to an end now. We are going through a terrible time and Valencia has been a difficult weekend, foremost to get focussed on the essentials. 2017 was a difficult season at all. Nevertheless, I would like to thank the entire team, all Sponsors and supporters for their great support. Hopefully we are able to start with our new project soon."
