#ValenciaGP: DIFFICULT WAY BACK TO NORMAL BUSINESS

DIFFICULT WAY BACK TO NORMAL BUSINESS

For Dominique Aegerter and his German Kiefer Racing team, things did not go that smooth on the opening day at the Spanish racetrack in Valencia.

The season’s finale got started in sunny weather on Friday. Despite the good conditions, however, Kiefer Racing got off to a cautious start during the first practice sessions. Friday’s session also meant a return to racing, as it was well known that Kiefer Racing withdraw from the Malaysia GP two weeks ago due to the tragic loss of team boss Stefan Kiefer.

Meanwhile, Dominique Aegerter and his crew were working on tyre choice for the race on Friday though this morning’s first minutes during FP1 revealed that Aegerter was quickly returning to his usual speed two weeks after the retirement in Malaysia. The 27-year-old Suter rider was able to set quickly competitive lap times but in the aftermath and also in the afternoon, he was not able to improve significantly.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing, Suter MMX2), FP1: P16 - 1´36.637 (11/23) / FP2: P18 - 1´36.805 (22/22):

"Our main focus was working with both tyre options today. I actually could feel the same with both options and I have been very consistent too. During the first session this morning, I started really well. In my first exit, I quickly came up with a good lap time. But after that we could not improve any more. Therefore, we tried to change the bike a bit. Of course, I was always at the limits, but I feel there must more to come. We now have to try and setup the bike in the right direction because at the moment we miss almost one second to the top which is too much for sure. So, we still face a lot of work to do."
