#SanMarinoGP: AGAIN STRONG FRIDAY-DISPLAY

AGAIN STRONG FRIDAY-DISPLAY

The 26-year-old Swiss rider shone as fourth fastest after day one again.

Partly violent thunderstorms in the area of Rimini last night, could not harm the good atmosphere on the occasion of the championship’s round 13. Beyond that, the 4.1 kilometres long track at the Misano World Circuit dried out in time for the opening practice session on Friday morning. FP1 was therefore run under good conditions.

Kiefer Racing’s Dominique Aegerter had a lot of reason to beam too. From the very first moment on track, the Suter rider was one of the fastest riders in what is the most highly competitive category in two-wheels racing. Aegerter was record with third fastest lap time in the morning and he could even improve his best effort by half a second during FP2 in the afternoon which means P4 in the combined practice times after day one in Italy.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing, Suter MMX2), FP1: P3 - 1´38.538 (15/24) / FP2: P4 - 1´38.326 (22/22):

"From our point of view, of course, this was a strong first day of practice again. This track here in Misano is easy for me and I had a great feeling right from the start. In the afternoon, I was able to ride a few tenth faster with used tyres, which last already a full race distance. But now, however, it is important to stay focussed for Sunday, as well as on tomorrow’s qualifying. But the team and the Suter technicians did a great job during the break because we further improved our package a bit. Beyond that, if we had to make the tyre choice for the race now, that would be clear. But we have to wait and see if the conditions remain the same. I’m sorry for Alex (Marquez) who has hurt himself at his hip today – get well soon, Alex."
