#GermanGP: SCHEDULED START INTO THE BIG WEEKEND AT THE HOME GRAND PRIX

SCHEDULED START INTO THE BIG WEEKEND AT THE HOME GRAND PRIX

For Kiefer Racing’s Dominique Aegerter the weekend got started accordingly to plan with two times finishing in the top ten of the timesheets on Friday at the Sachsenring.

Like one week ago in the Netherlands, changeable weather also affected the start of the Motorrad GP Deutschland. After a dry first session this morning, FP2 in the afternoon took place under mixed conditions followed by a previous heavy downpour.

Dominique Aegerter started the weekend fifth fastest during FP1 but on an almost dried out track during the later stages in the afternoon, the 26-year-old from Switzerland could not improve on his lap time from this morning. Therefore, Aegerter dropped down the order to ninth in the combined practice times.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing, Suter MMX2), FP1: P5 - 1´25.354 (27/27) / FP2: P9 - 1´25.542 (15/16):

"The conditions were somewhat more difficult in the afternoon as the session started in the wet and then it almost completely dried out towards the end. That’s why some other riders were able to take benefit in the end, but, unfortunately, I didn’t succeed. I missed 0,2 seconds from this morning’s lap time. Over the course of FP2, we were working with both tyre options again and in doing so, we did not notice any serious differences to this morning. However, we have found something about the chassis adjustments, which certainly turned out very interesting but it was not the final step definitely in order to go faster."

"In terms of the recently resurfaced track, the operators have done a great job. The grip level is much better now, the tyres are looking good. Of course, it takes more sessions to get more rubber on it but I think, under good conditions, we can count with lap times in the deep 1´24 range. Overall, the weekend did not start badly, even really promising after the Suter bike works well here as seen by the Intact boys. But we must work a little harder to confirm our direction. Apart from that, I also was strong during both sessions actually."
